It has been reported that the proposed amendment to Law No. 6326 on Tourist Guiding Profession, which was referred to the Parliament after being passed by the Commission, has been suspended.

According to a report in Yeni Şafak, the bill prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was recently put on the agenda of the Parliament. Following reactions from tour operators and guides, the AKP (The Ruling part) Parliamentary Group decided to hold discussions with sector representatives. It is expected that the bill will be revised to address concerns.

Creating employment opportunities

AKP sources indicate that the regulation will create a new field of employment. The ruling party administration, evaluating the objections to the bill aimed at increasing the number of guides nationwide, ranging from 13,500 to 16,000, will meet with sector representatives later this week.
