The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye has released visitor data for the August and the first 8 months of the year.
According to the data published by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Türkiye hosted a total of 36 million 754 thousand visitors in the first 8 months of 2023, showing an increase of 13.95 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
Out of these visitors, 33 million 426 thousands were foreigners, while 3 million 327 thousands were Türkiye citizens who residence abroad.
Russia is number one
In terms of tourist number, Russia occupies the first place by 44,88 percent increase and 4 million 351 thousand visitor between January-August, fallowed by Germany 6,03 percent increase and more than 4 million visitor. UK is in the third place by 12,36 percent increase and 2 million 650 thousand visitor.
In August, Germany was in first place in terms of tourist number fallowed by Russia and the UK.
In August of this year, the number of foreign visitors to Türkiye has recorded 6 million 660 thousand which is an increase of 5.65 percent compared to the same month of last year.
In August 871 thounsand visitor from Germany
Germany was the number one source market with 871 thousand visitor. Russia is in the second place with 852 thousand visitor while the UK is in third place with 588 thousand visitor. Number of visitor has increased these three source market by 1,54, 5,68 and 6,96 percent respectively.
