According to data released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of visitors to Türkiye in January increased by 2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 2 million 5 thousand to 2 million 47 thousand.

In January, despite a 17.60% decrease, Russian Federation become the number one source market of Türkiye with 230 thousand visitors. The number of visitors from Ukraine remained at the same level as last year with 42 thousand, while CIS comings from countries decreased by 7.51% to 539 thousand.

The second country that sending the most visitors to Türkiye in January was Iran with an increase of 86.60% to 211 thousand visitors. Iran was followed by Bulgaria with 162 thousand (+2.83), Germany with 142 thousand (+2.05), and Georgia with 92 thousand (-15.5).

In the same month, there was a 16.84% increase in visitors from the UK, totaling 70 thousand, and a 5.44% increase from the USA, totaling 50 thousand visitors.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the goals for 2024 are to attract 60 million tourists and achieve $60 billion in tourism revenue.
