According to data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, foreigners accounted for 26,766 million of the visitors in the first 7 months of the year. The figures for Turkish citizens residing abroad, which were announced as 3,327 million people in the January-June period, were also included in the total visitor numbers.
There was a 16.22 percent increase in the number of foreign visitors to Türkiye in the January-July 2023 period compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the ranking of countries sending the most visitors to Türkiye in the first 7 months, the Russian Federation took the first place with 3,498 million people, a 59.22 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Germany came in second place with a 7.32 percent increase and 3,211 million people, while the United Kingdom (UK) ranked third with a 14% increase and 2,063 million people. Bulgaria and Iran followed the United Kingdom.
In July, 7.1 million foreign visitors
In the past July, the number of foreign visitors to Türkiye increased by 7.25 percent, reaching 7,148 million visitors.
In the ranking of countries sending the most visitors in July, Germany came in first place with 941,597 people, a decrease of 2.12 percent. The Russian Federation ranked second with an increase of 19.31 percent and 884,585 people, while the United Kingdom (UK) was third with an increase of 5.21 percent and 574 thousands people. The United Kingdom was followed by Poland and Bulgaria.
