According to the report, which prepared by the data and analysis company STR, for the Hoteliers Association of Türkiye (TÜROB), hotel occupancy rates in Türkiye decreased by 5.4 percent in June compared to the same period in 2022, and fall to 67.3 percent. During the same period in 2019, hotel occupancy rates were at 75.6 percent.

In July, the average daily room rate (ADR) in hotels across the country was 168.43 euros, and the revenue per available room (RevPAR) was recorded as 113.43 euros.

Hotel occupancy rates for the same period of 2019 and 2022 were 63.3 and 65.1 percent respectively.

Hotel occupancy in Europe

In European destinations, hotel occupancy rates in July were 75.5 percent, with an ADR of 164.37 euros and Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) of 124.09 euros.

For the January-July period, hotel occupancy rates in Europe were measured at 67.8 percent. During this period, the ADR was 141.60 euros, and the RevPAR was 96.07 euros.

Drop in hotel occupancy in Istanbul

During this period, occupancy in Istanbul hotels decreased by 8.3 percent to 73.3 compared to the previous year while ADR rate was increased 2,7 percent to 163 euros. In July, the total RevPAR in Istanbul hotels decreased by 6 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and fall to 119.43 euros.

For the January-July period, hotel occupancy in Istanbul was recorded at 61.5 percent. Over the 7-month period, the average daily room rate was 145.89 euros, and the revenue per room was 89.70 euros.

Hotel occupancy in Antalya

In Antalya, hotel occupancy rates in July decreased by 5.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and fall to 70.5 percent. During this period, the ADR increased by 12.9 percent to 313.06 euros, and the total RevPAR increased by 6.7 percent to 220.56 euros.

For the first 7 months of 2023, hotel occupancy rates in Antalya were 53.4 percent, with an ADR of 161.79 euros and the RevPAR of 86.45 euros.
