At a meeting held in Ankara regarding the "Karaelmas Tourism Express," chaired by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan, it was decided that the train would embark on its first journey on April 12th.

During the first journey of the Karaelmas Tourism Express, it was announced that when it reaches the borders of Karabük province, it will stay for two nights in Safranbolu, and it will also make special stops at specific times in Eskipazar Hadrianopolis Ancient City and Yenice district for the opening ceremony.

It was noted that the route of the train will start from Ankara-Kalecik and follow the route of Çankırı, Çerkeş, Eskipazar, Yenice, Safranbolu, Filyos, Bartın, Amasra, and Zonguldak.

Karaelmas Tourism Express is going to be second touristic train line after Touristic Doğu Express.
