The regional meetings of Alanya Tourist Operators Association (ALTİD) have been completed. In the series of meetings where regional issues of Alanya tourism were discussed, plaques were also awarded to representatives of businesses that accommodated earthquake victims in their facilities or provided financial aid.
"More than 30 thousand earthquake Victims accommadated in our hotels"
Providing information about the meetings, Burhan Sili, a Board Member of the Turkish Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED) and President of ALTİD, stated that they meet with ALTİD members every year in this series of meetings to identify regional issues and convey them directly to the relevant authorities. He also mentioned that they convey these matters to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism through TÜROFED. President Sili expressed that during the earthquake disaster, they achieved exemplary crisis management nationwide, accommodating more than 30,000 earthquake victims smoothly in lodging facilities.
"600 thousand nights of accommodation"
President Sili also provided information about the number of accommodations, saying, "The earthquake victims we hosted in our accommodation facilities had a total of 600,000 overnight stays. Our member facilities put their hands under the stone and, in addition to all accommodation expenses, they also covered electricity and water bills themselves, showing great dedication as expected in such disasters. The entire cost of the organization was covered by our member facilities."
President Sili thanked all state dignitaries, including former Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, as well as all government institutions' officials in the region, employees, Mayor Adem Murat Yücel, municipal staff, and all citizens who worked on a voluntary basis, for their support during the earthquake disaster. He presented plaques to the managers of facilities that provided assistance during the earthquake catastrophe.
