According to a statement from the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums, Galata Tower has undergone a thorough restoration guided by modern technology and academic expertise. The tower is now ready to welcome visitors after these significant improvements.
The restoration projects were based on technical analyses and georadar reports of the reinforced concrete structures added between 1964 and 1967. These projects were meticulously implemented using advanced technologies under the guidance of field experts.
The restoration adhered strictly to scientific and artistic principles, ensuring the preservation of the cultural heritage while accommodating visitors and providing a sanctuary for migratory birds.
The works were also supported by comprehensive interventions performed by professional climbers, ensuring every aspect of the structure was carefully attended to.
Starting tomorrow, the tower will reopen to the public with controlled entry as part of the visitor management plan. Access will be limited to a maximum of 100 people per hour to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
