Emir El Kadı, President of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), made statements to the Russian Tour Operators Association (ATOR) bulletin regarding the country's tourism expectations for 2024 and the results for the first quarter of the year.

Emir El Kadı, who announced that they received 1,414,000 visitors from Russia in 2023, stated that Israel's attacks on Gaza did not create significant negative impacts on the country's tourism. El Kadı stated, "Our tourist target for 2023 was 15 million. The actual figure was 14.9 million. Our target for Russian visitors was 1.5 million, and it was realized as 1,414,000."

El Kadı explained that they hosted 258,600 Russian guests during the period from January 1 to March 15, 2024, noting that this figure was 259,000 during the same period last year. El Kadı said, "Russian tour operators plan to increase the number of visitors they bring to Egypt by 10-15%, depending on the companies. If there is no change in the geopolitical situation, we aim to host 1.7-1.8 million Russian tourists in our country this year."
