The number of Russian visitors to Antalya was reported to have decreased by 38.7 percent compared to the pre-pandemic record year of 2019.

According to data from the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR), the number of Russian tourists choosing Türkiye in the first ten months of this year increased by 26 percent compared to 2022, but it remained 12.8 percent below the number recorded in 2019 before the pandemic.

According to the news reported by DW Türkçe from the Russian news agency TASS, Russians were followed by Germans and Britons.

It was noted that Antalya remained the most popular destination for Russian tourists. This year 3.3 million Russian tourists visited Antalya between January-October period, representing a 17.5 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year. However, the visits to Antalya were still 38.7 percent below the pre-pandemic 2019 figures.

According to ATOR, the number of Russians visiting Türkiye in October decreased by 12.5 percent compared to the same period in 2022, reaching 672 thousand. This decline is believed to be related to the partial mobilization declared by Russia in the war with Ukraine, which led to a surge of Russian visitors to Türkiye last year.
