AKTOB President Kaan Kavaloğlu, who took part of Netherlands Tourism Fair (Vakantiebeurs Utrecht), expressed his positive expectation from Dutch market. "Rise in early reservation indicators, especially from tour operators and airlines." Kavaloğlu said.

According to the report that prepared by the AKTOB for the Dutch market, as of November 2023, Spain became the leading source travel market for the Netherlands. The search volume for flights and accommodation in Spain from the Netherlands increased by approximately 13 perent last month and about 14 percent in the previous 90 days.

Türkiye's ranks 8th among the countries most visited by Dutch tourists, according to the AKTOB report.

The tourism market in the Netherlands witnessed 27.25 million outbound and 34.20 million inbound travels in 2022, according to data from the Dutch Statistical Office. While there has been a significant recovery in domestic tourist spending post-pandemic, it remains 5.9 percent lower than the levels seen before the pandemic in 2019.

In 2019, couples with children spent the most, with an average expenditure exceeding 2,800 euros per holiday. On the other hand, solo travelers were the lowest spenders, averaging 1,500 euros for their vacations.

In the third quarter of 2022, Dutch travelers spent over 8.4 billion euros during their visits and temporary stays in foreign countries, which is 9 percent higher compared to the summer of 2019. Conversely, foreign tourists and business travelers spent around 4.8 billion euros during their visits to the Netherlands last summer, which is still about 4 percent lower than the summer of 2019.

The preferred types of holidays for Dutch tourists include beach holidays, visiting friends or family, cultural holidays, adventure/sports holidays, city breaks, gastronomic holidays, eco holidays, multi-stop travel holidays, healthy living/medical holidays, wedding-related holidays, cruise holidays, religious holidays, LGBTQIA+ holidays, and others...

The goal for Antalya is to attract 500,000 visitors from the Netherlands, considering the historical trends of passenger numbers arriving at Antalya Airport from the Netherlands."
