A new passenger record was set at Istanbul's Sabiha Gökçen Airport on Sunday, July 23rd, with 686 flights and a total of 124,478 passengers, the highest number ever recorded.

According to HEAŞ data, Sabiha Gökçen hosted a total of 17 million passengers in the first six months of this year, with 108,060 flights operated from January to June.

Berk Albayrak, CEO of ISG, stated, "The airport's busy period indicates that the tourism sector is having a very productive season this year, as we break new records at Sabiha Gökçen Airport almost every week. We take additional measures and planning to ensure our passengers have the most comfortable and seamless travel experience. The results of our intense efforts are reflected in the consecutive records we achieve."

Sabiha Gökçen International Airport serves a total of 156 destinations in 52 countries, including 39 domestic and 117 international routes. In June, it added El Qassim, Saudi Arabia, and Kazan, Russia, to its destination map, and on July 19th, it included Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, among its new international flights.
